A few fiber farmers and artisans from around the area will be converging on the Freeville Farmers Market Sunday September 19, 2021 12-4pm for a mini fiber festival. Wool and fiber from local and regional farms, hand-made and mill-made finished products with NY State wool and fiber, plus a few fiber animals to meet!
Find handspun yarn, spinning fiber, wool batting, whole fleeces, sheep skins, wool socks, hand knitted and hand woven goods, felted items, hand-dyed items, wearable garments, household items - all made from local wool and fiber. PLUS spinning demos, fiber processing tool demos, information about fiber types and uses, livestock, and more! There will also be some special guests, including a few different breeds of sheep and angora rabbits to pet and learn about.
Live music by Zingology (12-2pm) and Crown City Brass (2-4pm)!

Fiber Farms

• Ellis Hollow Farm - Tunis and Ellis Hollow sheep products - wool, sheep skins, lamb cuts
• GLF Woolens/GinLip Farm - roving, yarn, socks blankets, pillow covers made from GinLip Border Leicester wool. Will bring a pair of Border Leicester ewes
• Crooked Creek Sheep and Wool - crossbred sheep with multiple fiber types; processed fiber and handmade felted items
• Blue Spoon Farm - parchment, a potted papyrus plant, wool fleeces, fur, and "Fluffy" the ewe lamb
• Big Rock Farm - shetland fleece, handmade felt items
• Laughing Winds Farm - felt catnip toys
• Foxfire Farms Merino - information about shearing, wool classing and merino sheep and wool

• Budding Knits - Handknit items 
• MelanieBattoe - Headbands made with locally grown wool
• Oswego FiberWorks - handspun yarn made with locally sourced wool fiber; english angora fiber; will be exhibiting English angora rabbits
• TwistedWool - Wearable garments featuring hand spun wool, hand dyed wool, felt, woven, knit
• Rebel Acres Farm - Yarn, hats, socks, roving and raw wool from my sheep with added alpaca Socks and hats processed at woolen mill​
• Fleece & Thank Ewe Fiber Worx - hand-dyed and hand-spun yarn, handmade knit and crocheted items.  ​​

• Tompkins County 4-H Bunny Foo Foo's - Different breeds of rabbits including angora, and Rabbit Hopping Demo
• Freeville Elementary School PTA - will have information about the PTA and will caramel apples for donations!
• LocalFiber - spinning demos, fiber examples from different breeds and wool types found locally.  
• Black Sheep Hand Spinners Guild - spinning and fiber working demonstrations
• Compost Education Program - CCETC demo of worm (indoor) composting, info about the Compost Learning Collaborative site near the Freeville Community Garden
