2023 Freeville Fiber Festival

Join us for this special local wool and fiber market!
The Freeville Fiber Festival will feature our usual amazing lineup of farmers market vendors PLUS several additional special vendors bringing local wool and and items crafted from wool and other lovely fibers. You will find handspun and millspun yarns, spinning fibers, knitted and felted goods, beautiful handmade items such as hats, socks, homegoods, bags and various other lovely items. The event will also include live musical guests, yarn spinning demonstrations, carding and processing wool from fleece to yarn, children's wool dyeing demo with a book giveaway and even a few guest fiber animals!

MUSIC
Crown City Brass Band 12 - 1:15pm
Mister Bobcat (for kids!)  1:30-2:30pm
The Local Farmers Union 2:45-4pm

DEMOS
Spinning and fiber processing demos - 12-4pm
Children's activities with Susan at 1:00pm: includes wool dyeing demo followed by a book giveaway!
Little Bunny Foo Foo's 4H Club with trained rabbits jumping courses from 12-2pm (weather dependent)
If you would like to just bring your drop spindle or spinning wheel and just play with fiber and soak in the fiber-ambiance, please join us in the Demo tent!

Fiber Fest Vendors and Special Guests

Oswego Fiber Works​
English angora rabbit fiber and handspun yarn, hand-cranked blended batts, angora blend roving. Will also be bringing a spinning wheel for demo'ing and a few English angora rabbits! ​
GLF Woolens
Roving, Dyed Batts, Yarn, and fiber products (scarves, hats, pillows & Blankets) made from the wool from her lovely Border Leicester flock.

Frozen Mitten Farm

Rebel Acres Farm
Yarns and spinning fiber made from their flock of fiber animals
Darling Woolens
Socks, hats and blankets made with wool from her flock of natural colored Border Leicester sheep
​Sweet Meadow Farm
Yarn, carded fleece, needle felted items
​Big Rock Farm
Shetland fleeces, roving, handmade felted items, various washed spinning fibers from local and regional fiber animals
Laughing Winds Farm​*
Icelandic roving and lopi yarn, dryer balls, cat toys, some knitted wool products, drawer sachets, wool nesting kits
Ellis Hollow Farm*
Ellis Hollow sheep wool and sheepskins, plus lambcuts, and honey, garlic. 
Jose Buenaventura Gonzalez Gutierrez
Master Mexican weaver from Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico. Jose weaves gorgeous rugs from local wool that he hand-spins and hand-dyes with natural dyes. 
Broad Strides Farm*
Icelandic wool, handmade items, and handspun yarn
